Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time, administrative position of Coach, Men's Football - Defensive Coordinator.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time administrative position responsible for maintaining the highest standards of citizenship, sportsmanship and conduct while instilling these values in the football players of Southwestern Illinois College. The Coach - Men's Football Defensive Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Head Coach - Men's Football in all aspects of the men's football program, including recruiting, retention, player development, academic success, competition management, budget oversight, fundraising, and compliance with college, conference, and governing association regulations. This position also includes planning, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the team's defensive strategy. During the off-season periods, the coach will perform additional athletic department duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  2. Minimum of three years of football coaching experience is required. Coaching experience at the community college, junior college, NAIA, NCAA, or high school level, with defensive coordinator experience preferred.
  3. Experience in video analysis, football technology, and recruiting platforms (Hudl, recruiting software, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) preferred.
  4. Demonstrated experience recruiting for and coordinating a defensive system.
  5. Must possess a valid driver's license, obtainment of Commercial Driver's License (CLD), preferred.
  6. Ability to obtain and maintain required coaching certifications is required; Strength and conditioning certification preferred.
  7. CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
  8. Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

SALARY
Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging fro m $46,032 - $57,516 per year
