THE JOB:
The Senior Data Engineer provides technical leadership in the architecture, development, and operational management of enterprise data platforms and integration services that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is accountable for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions, overseeing the full lifecycle of data engineering initiatives from strategy and architecture through implementation, deployment, and production support. The Senior Data Engineer partners with business and technology stakeholders to advance enterprise data capabilities while ensuring compliance with departmental standards and MGM Resorts' policies, practices, and procedures.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and support of scalable, production-grade data integration and engineering solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical designs and documentation aligned with business requirements, data architecture, and enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with technology leadership to evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices that improve platform performance and user experience.
  • Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet business objectives and design requirements.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, effectively communicating technical solutions and driving stakeholder alignment.
  • Mentor junior engineers, guide architectural decisions, and balance technical tradeoffs to deliver reliable and intuitive data products.
  • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of data platforms and services.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise data integration, data engineering services, and data platform solutions that support analytics, reporting, operational, and AI-driven business initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and support scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, and data products that enable analytics, reporting, AI, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Build and optimize enterprise data platforms using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Azure cloud services, ensuring performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain ELT/ETL frameworks, data models, and governance capabilities, including data quality, lineage, observability, security, and compliance.
  • Support AI, machine learning, Generative AI, and RAG solutions through scalable data engineering, feature engineering, and MLOps/DataOps practices.
  • Implement modern engineering standards, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), testing, monitoring, and automation.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver data solutions aligned with enterprise objectives and strategic roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, mentoring, and the promotion of engineering best practices across the organization.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is:
$121,700.00 - $162,200.00
This range represents a good faith estimate of the salary range that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's incentive plan.
