The Atlanta Mission desires for every volunteer who serves to feel valued, equipped, appreciated and fulfilled during their service. The Volunteer Relationship Manager serves within our ministry by recruiting, selecting, equipping, leading, and developing volunteers that provide strategic support and services to Atlanta Mission clients and staff at The Shepherdโ€™s Inn.

Part Time:ย up to 25 hours per week

Variable/ flexible schedule: Monday-Friday

Flexible for Saturday events, as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment, Engagement and Leadership Development
  • Develops and executes ongoing volunteer recruitment strategy for the assigned campus- engaging churches, community groups, and organizations to become consistent volunteer partners.

  • Develops and executes onboarding for new volunteers to provide the resources, competencies and knowledge to be successful in their roles.

  • Recruits, selects and leads faith based volunteers serving as chapel leaders, Bible study leaders and special spiritual formation events/opportunities.

  • Provides onsite leadership for volunteer partners serving through campus beautification projects.

  • Recruits, manages and strengthens partnerships with external organizations that provide client services through their own volunteer teams.

  • Leads campus tours for prospective donors, potential volunteers, and the general public.

  • Builds organizational capacity by recruiting, selecting, and equipping leader volunteers who oversee volunteer teams.

  • Collaborates with volunteer leaders to accomplish goals in volunteer participant growth, church engagement, community engagement, and prayer support.

  • Conducts monthly and quarterly meetings with volunteer leaders to evaluate program effectiveness, cast vision, and support ongoing equipping for volunteer development.

  • Responds to contact forms, voice messages, and email inquiries in a timely manner.

Program Coordination and Strategic Planning
  • Collaborate in building and executing annual OGSIM (objectives, goals, strategies, initiatives, metrics) plan as part of the Volunteer Engagement Team.

  • Collaborates with Volunteer Engagement Team and campus staff to execute a multi-faceted volunteer program that supports the existing client needs and builds capacity for future growth.

  • Works with requesting departments to develop job descriptions, outline expectations, and develop training resources for volunteer roles.

Volunteer Tracking, Support and Administration

  • Supports the management, coordination, and scheduling of volunteers serving in assigned ministry areas.

  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports volunteer participation, hours, activities and key performance indicators using Volunteer and Donor Management Software.ย 

  • Monitors and analyzes performance against OGSIM (objectives, goals, initiatives, strategies and metrics) for improvement and implementing adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Consistently executes volunteer stewardship strategy to ensure volunteer appreciation, satisfaction, and retention.

  • Supports ministry-wide events as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Proven experience recruiting, selecting, equipping, leading and developing volunteers

  • Five to seven years of experience leading volunteers, volunteer leaders and teams to meet goals and expectations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven experience managing, coaching, and leading volunteer teams to implement and achieve program goals

  • Experience working with local churches; interaction with pastors, leaders, and members

  • Experience partnering with community groups and organizations to achieve organizational goals and objectives

  • Highly organized, self-starter who takes initiative to reach goals and deadlines; strategic thinker

  • Collaborative team player, who enjoys seeing those on their team succeed

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others with an optimistic outlook and positive attitude

  • Computer proficiency with MS Outlook, Office, and Word; familiarity with web-based systems for client, donor, and volunteer data management

  • Experience with Salesforce, Volunteer Hub and/or Asana is a plus

  • Self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively with a team

Physical Job Requirements:
