Job description

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships.
Job Purpose:
The Information Technology (IT) Technician will report directly to the Senior IT Analyst and will also be customer service oriented in providing solutions to everyday technical needs at their assigned site. The IT Technician will maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, repair computer systems, hardware, computer peripherals, and assist with network troubleshooting. The IT Technician will also document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical point for all end users requesting technical assistance via helpdesk, in person and via email on issues related to computers, printers, peripherals, network connectivity and software support
  • Support and configure multimedia, audio and signage software and hardware.
  • Image/Clone systems for end users
  • Setup workstations with computers, phones and necessary peripheral devices
  • Install and configure software and basic operations training
  • Assist computer users with hardware and software questions
  • Update, Verify, and enter hardware assets in the inventory system
  • Troubleshoot and repair damaged hardware
  • Prepares various reports, as required
  • Report and assist troubleshooting any networking, security camera, electrified door issues to direct supervisor
  • Establish good relationships with all end users, departments and colleagues
  • Direct and supervise IT interns as assigned
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Information Systems or related field
  • Extensive technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft platform
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of data processing terminology, symbols, and methodology
  • Ability to operate information systems input devices
  • Ability to prepare and install software and images
  • Ability to occasionally drive to other school location
