Job description

Waltonen is actively seeking a hands-on AI Programmer / AI Software Engineer to develop internal AI agents, workflow automation tools, and intelligent business systems that improve operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal AI tools, AI agents, and workflow automation systems
  • Build AI-powered applications that support engineering, operations, manufacturing, administration, and business functions
  • Develop intelligent workflow automation solutions to streamline repetitive or manual processes
  • Create and integrate AI agents capable of supporting internal knowledge retrieval, process execution, reporting, and decision support
  • Develop software applications and backend systems using Python, C, C++, Java, and related technologies
  • Build AI-powered applications to support engineering, operations, manufacturing, and business functions
  • Integrate AI technologies, APIs, databases, and business systems into existing infrastructure
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify AI and automation opportunities
  • Optimize software performance, reliability, scalability, and security
  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging AI tools, frameworks, and technologies
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain software performance and reliability
  • Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and development best practices
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related field
  • 3-5 years of software development experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C / C++, Java, etc.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies, APIs, and system integrations
  • Understanding of AI workflow automation, Large Language Models (LLMs), Software architecture and scalable system design
  • Experience with Git/version control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and execute projects with minimal oversight
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing AI agents or automation systems
  • Experience with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar AI frameworks
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector databases, Cloud platforms, Docker/containerized environments
  • Experience in manufacturing, defense, automotive, or industrial environments preferred
