The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have an immediate need for a Flight Test Coordinator to provide onsite support out of Niceville, FL.

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide flight test coordination and support to a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program. Interact on an as-needed basis with the government flight test facility to monitor regulatory procedures and provide direct oversight of test coordination for the DARPA program team. Communicate directly with the DARPA program team and safety leads on any issues, focal points, and upcoming decisions between the flight test facility and the program team. Provide input and coordinate site visits for the program team and the performer team to include shipping and logistical needs for flight tests.  

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). May substitute a non-technical degree with demonstrated technical acumen
  • 25+ years of experience in developing, testing, and fielding experimental aerospace systems and technologies
  • Active DoW TS/SCI clearance
  • Proficiency with software suites such as Microsoft 365, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work fully on client site

Desired:

  • Experience with flight test operations and facilities at Eglin Air Force Base, FL
  • U.S. Navy Test Pilot School trained Flight Test Engineer
  • 20+ years experience with developing, planning, and execution of R&D aerospace systems at Eglin Air Force Base, FL
