This role collaborates with case managers, teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and the Behavior Intervention Development (BID) Specialist to analyze progress, communicate updates, and support students in meeting their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. The BII Specialist implements and monitors Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), reinforces appropriate behaviors, and tracks prescribed BII services.

By addressing the behavioral and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities, the BII Specialist helps create a supportive school environment that fosters student success. Requirements / Qualifications What you'll Bring Minimum: The equivalent of graduation from high school* and one of the following: Completion of at least two years of study (48 semester units or 60 quarter units) at an institution of higher education OR Attainment of an Associate of Arts degree or higher Verification will be required for high school graduation, college units, and degrees. One year of paid or volunteer experience working with school-age children Willingness to obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention and De-escalation (such as Safety Care) Desired (but not required) in order of importance: Bachelor's Degree or college course units toward BA desired Bilingual in Spanish or Korean preferred Completion of coursework at an accredited institution of higher education in child development, education, and/or psychology is desirable Two years of experience working with students with disabilities Two years of experience at the level of an Education Assistant, Instructional Assistant or Assistant/Aide Experience in observing and charting student behavioral data Training in implementing Behavior Intervention techniques Some demonstrated experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based behavior intervention techniques Certification in Crisis Prevention and De-escalation, such as Safety Care or CPI-NCI Requirements / Qualifications What you'll Bring Minimum: The equivalent of graduation from high school* and one of the following: Completion of at least two years of study (48 semester units or 60 quarter units) at an institution of higher education OR Attainment of an Associate of Arts degree or higher Verification will be required for high school graduation, college units, and degrees.
