Job Title: Boiler Operator / Stationary Engineer

Job Description

This role involves operating and monitoring high-pressure boilers across multiple campus sites, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring safe, continuous operation of critical building systems. You will perform routine inspections, log readings in a log book, respond to issues promptly, and interact professionally with campus personnel and building occupants.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure boilers and related equipment in a stationary engineer capacity.
  • Log all boiler readings and system data accurately and consistently in a log book.
  • Inspect worksites regularly to identify potential problems, hazards, or irregularities in boiler performance and related systems.
  • Respond promptly to issues or alarms and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain safe and reliable operation.
  • Check and adjust temperature controls, gauges, and other instrumentation to ensure systems operate within specified parameters.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation of inspections, maintenance activities, and any incidents or corrective actions taken.
  • Travel between different campus sites as needed to perform inspections, checks, and routine operational tasks.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with campus staff, students, and other building occupants.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements related to high-pressure boiler operation.
  • Collaborate with other facilities personnel to support continuous operation of the university’s buildings and infrastructure.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience operating high-pressure boilers, preferably in a stationary engineer role.
