Muzzio and Dr. Gerardo Callegari at C-SOPS, Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA) are seeking applications from qualified individuals for a position as Postdoctoral Associates (PDA) to work on ongoing projects with the FDA and with pharmaceutical companies (or untill the position is filled) in the field of Process Analytic Tools applied to the pharmaceutical industry. The candidates should ideally have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or other related disciplines. The center's research mission is to develop a scientific foundation for optimal design of structured organic composites and develop science; and engineering methods for designing, scaling, optimizing and controlling relevant manufacturing processes. These positions will be based at the Rutgers' School of Engineering located in Piscataway, NJ. We seek highly motivated individuals with a solid scientific background in areas relevant to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Specifically, in process analytical tools (PAT) implemented in-at-on- line for processes involving continuous manufacturing of solid dose powder based pharmaceutical products (more details below). Candidates should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related scientific fields and experience and knowledge managing and analyzing spectroscopic data to build predictive models. The Successful candidates should be able to work independently, have excellent work ethics and competency for working on time-sensitive projects. Have excellent personal and communication skills, being a positive leader and excellent team player to be able to work in a highly collaborative environment. The candidate will be expected to exercise supervision of professional research staff including undergraduate and graduate students, to interact and report to the principal investigator and to the sponsor in weekly or bi-weekly meetings, to publish and present research findings and to participate in the preparation of grants/fellowships/manuscripts. These abilities should be clearly demonstrated in the applicant's CV and cover letter. The candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or other related disciplines. The candidate should have a very strong background on Process Analytical Tools, specifically in creating calibration models and analyzing spectroscopic data from on-line, at-line and off-line spectroscopic instruments including NIR and Raman spectrometers to obtain the composition of ingredients in a pharmaceutical formulation.
