Job description

The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).
Pay Range:
$119,849.60 - $171,392.00

Position Overview
Works in collaboration with the surgeon, surgical intensivist, and other health care team members in performing a safe cardiac and vascular surgical procedures to maximize patient outcomes. Delivers quality care to the patient during their perioperative experience, provides exceptional patient care on the general floor and in the surgical ICU. Functions in the role of patient advocate. Provides patient and family health education and health assessment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program, approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Active and unrestricted NJ state licensure Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) Active DEA
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience as cardiac or vascular surgical first assist and/or minimum of one year of experience in surgical critical care (cardiac critical care preferred)
Other Credentials:
AHA ACLS-Adv Cardiac Life Supp
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Special Training:
Proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH) and open vein harvest techniques. Proficiency in placement of Nasogastric tubes, Foley Catheters, Central Venous Catheters, Arterial catheters, and Chest Tubes. Working knowledge of pulmonary arterial catheters, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, and Impella devices preferred.
