Job description

Description
The purpose of this position is to support designated business areas within Publix's Asset Protection (AP) department in assessing threats that may impact Publix retail locations, associates, customers, and the financial performance of the company through the analysis of relevant data, creation/maintenance of databases and data collection systems, and preparation of reports related to risks, trends, etc. to support the decision making process of the AP department and/or Publix business partners.
This position impacts ensuring AP threat data, information, etc. is appropriately analyzed and prepared for use by Publix leadership to make decisions regarding the safeguarding of assets and optimization of operational efficiency for the company, as well as to it provide support and protection for Publix against incidents that may negatively impact the company's financial performance, stability, brand, and ability to provide premier service to customers.
Responsibilities include:
  • Utilizing advanced analytical techniques to assess threat data for a designated business area within AP (e.g., Security, Fire Safety) and generating reports used by AP leadership to support Publix during situations or incidents that may impact Publix's brand, associates, and/or customers.
  • Developing, deploying, and maintaining analytic tools to optimize the integrity and accessibility of AP threat data to support ongoing analytical needs of the business area and identify improvements or enhancements to existing operational capabilities.

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline with no relevant business experience, OR
  • Associate's degree in an analytical discipline with at least 4 years of analytics/reporting experience, OR
  • High school diploma or its equivalent with at least 6 years of analytics/reporting experience, OR
  • equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
  • Knowledge in accounting principles, comprehensive understanding of general business practices, and proficiency in analyzing financial statements
  • Knowledge of various database and information platforms
  • Knowledge of business analysis principles
  • Must possess the following skills:
    • Technical problem solving

    • Detailed orientated
    • Data manipulation and analysis
    • Data interpretation
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline
  • 2 years of analytics/reporting experience, specifically working with Publix/AP data
  • Knowledge of Publix's operational procedures
  • Knowledge of asset protection industry operations
  • Basic Microsoft Access and PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of the Case Management Tracking System
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale
