Job description

What We Offer
The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree BSN, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis) preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current NC or compact state RN license, required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification. Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or equivalent within 6 months of hire,required. Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Self-starter. Organized and detail-oriented. Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Skills in patient education, teamwork and collaboration are necessary. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care. Able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies and complications, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) preferred.
