Video and Digital Media Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:

Responsible for producing, creating, and editing digital media communications using the YMCA voice and guidelines that help further and promote the YMCA in the community and support our strategic goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates high quality video and animation content for use on TV, Social Media, Website, You-Tube, Advertising Channels, YMCA events and more. Specifically Filming, Editing, Producing and Publishing video assets for use by the YMCA.
  • Manages all aspects of field and studio production including scripting, shooting, conducting interviews, directing on-camera talent, video/audio editing, graphics creation, and related production processes for final product delivery.
  • Organizes and coordinates the details of video production work. Conducts location site surveys and production planning meetings. Specifies the staff, facilities and equipment needed. Edits or directs the editing of video materials including selection of scenes, transitions, special effects, narration, and background music.
  • Provides recommendations for enhancing public awareness and engagement through use of video and audio.
  • Researches and develops new techniques for conveying and presenting material within video projects. Evaluates new audio/visual equipment and recommends use. Keeps abreast of new technologies.
  • Maintain and edit YMCA of Greater Dayton website including: Photo management, Updating program information, schedules, calendars, and flyers, new landing pages, and modules as well as basic maintenance needs.
  • Assist with planning of the website updates for all marketing campaigns.
  • Develops and/or oversees the development of videos, website copy, photo stock, digital marketing collateral, etc. Works with the association management staff, branch management staff, and outside resources to produce high quality and cost-efficient digital communications.
  • Assist in event planning for special Association events including but not limited to Day Camp Olympics, Strong Kids Triathlon, Annual Meeting, etc.
  • Ensure all branches are adhering to the YMCAs branding standards when designing posts, using Y voice, etc. on social media, print and other forms of communication. Point out all concerns when necessary.
  • Monitor, edit and maintain Google Business Pages and other Google products.
  • Monitor online reviews and recommendations. Respond to all reviews within 24 hours when appropriate and coordinate with branch staff to form a proper response when needed. Communicates reviews to branch leadership.
  • Gather accurate information and photography to promote major events (races, Wills & Trusts Week, Annual Campaign, etc.) and maintain all 5 major calendars including google pages, Facebook.
  • Monitor, edit and maintain electronic GPS Map profiles for YMCA of Greater Dayton locations.
  • Assists with E-blasts and email advertising/information campaigns with Daxko Engage. This includes but is not limited to: Creating groups and bimonthly eblasts, coordinating with director's information to promote regarding programming or branch promotions, creating copy, photos, and links for members to register or review information.
  • Participate in establishing policies and procedures related to website, staff intranet, social media, and digital and email communications.
  • Communicate to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
  • Demonstrates caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in leadership by fostering a workplace culture that values character and mutual respect. Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Actively recruits, trains, and engages groups of volunteers.
  • Works effectively with volunteers on the Marketing Committee, Metro Board, etc.
  • Assists with the use of Survey Monkey and Daxko Engage to set up a system for e-mail surveys to be sent to program participants and members to gauge satisfaction.
  • Assist the Marketing Director when working with volunteers on the Marketing Committee with emphasis on social media topics.

Qualifications:

  • A 2-year college degree in audio/visual communications, broadcasting, television production, film or other related field required.
  • An advance certification or 4-year degree in Film or Video Production degree preferred.

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant, related experience preferred. Degree in audio/visual communications, broadcasting, television production, film or other related field preferred.

Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, After Effects, and Audition. (Photoshop, Illustrator and Prelude a plus)

  • Experience using professional digital video cameras and DSLR
  • Mac skills required; must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Green screen and studio compositing experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 1-3 years of video production experience required
  • Expertise and mastery of video production process, camera operation, different camera and lens types, microphones, proper filming techniques, drone operation, lighting design, and postproduction.
  • Current demo reel or portfolio
  • Demonstrated experience with various software design and application tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and various Microsoft Office products required.
  • Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
  • Experience and knowledge of Drupal database software, Google Analytics, and Google Adwords a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid driver's license, insurable driver's record according to the YMCA's insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors and suppliers, etc.
