To thrive as a VoIP Engineer, you need a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, SIP protocols, and experience with VoIP systems, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, PBX systems (like Asterisk or FreePBX), and relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Voice, CompTIA Network+) is often required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills are crucial for ensuring reliable, high-quality voice communications and effective troubleshooting in dynamic business environments.

What is the easiest WFH job to get hired at?

For VoIP MS roles, entry-level customer support or technical support positions are often the easiest to secure remotely, as they typically require basic technical knowledge, good communication skills, and minimal prior experience.
