Job description

Description
SUMMARY
The Director, Growth is responsible for owning and advancing Butler/Till's priority growth verticals (e.g., Healthcare, Local-at-Scale) by defining go-to-market strategy, building senior-level relationships, and driving qualified pipeline. This role serves as a category expert and primary external voice, translating market intelligence into actionable strategy, thought leadership, and measurable business impact.
Acting as a bridge between strategy and execution, this individual develops the playbooks, infrastructure, and cross-functional alignment needed to position Butler/Till as a competitive partner while scaling repeatable growth models across the organization.
KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Outcome: Define and Scale Vertical Go-to-Market Strategy
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Own and continuously evolve the GTM strategy across priority vertical(s), including target audiences, messaging, and priority accounts
โ€ข Build and maintain scalable playbooks (personas, positioning, case studies, and proof points)
โ€ข Translate market intelligence and category insights into clear, differentiated positioning
โ€ข Partner with Growth and Marketing to align strategy with campaigns, content, and pipeline focus
Key Outcome: Drive Measurable Pipeline and Growth Impact
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Own contribution to qualified pipeline aligned to agency growth priorities
โ€ข Identify, source, and engage high-value target accounts to build sustained opportunity flow
โ€ข Build and nurture senior-level relationships to open doors and accelerate opportunity progression
โ€ข Define, track, and optimize success metrics (pipeline quality, conversion, account penetration)
Key Outcome: Build and Operationalize Repeatable Growth Models
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Develop and scale repeatable GTM frameworks that extend beyond the individual role
โ€ข Translate strategy into practical tools, processes, and ways of working across teams
โ€ข Identify gaps in capabilities, positioning, or process and drive cross-functional solutions
โ€ข Codify and share best practices to improve overall new business effectiveness
Key Outcome: Establish Market Presence and Influence Enterprise Strategy
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serve as the internal and external voice of the vertical, aligning teams on positioning and opportunity
โ€ข Represent Butler/Till in industry events, partnerships, and thought leadership initiatives
โ€ข Build relationships with key industry stakeholders to strengthen credibility and visibility
โ€ข Act as a strategic advisor to leadership, influencing investment, prioritization, and growth strategy
Other Responsibilities:
โ€ข Additional accountabilities and tasks may be assigned by leader/management, to contribute to overall team and agency success.
QUALIFICATIONS
โ€ข REQUIRED
o 10+ years of experience in multi-location, franchise, or local-at-scale marketing, media, or business development; agency, brand, or publisher side
o Deep fluency across the Local-at-scale spectrum: national franchise systems, multi-location enterprises, and dealer/distributor networks (not single-location/independent franchisee work)
o Proven track record of building senior relationships and opening doors at national brands with local execution
o Strong strategic communicator; able to translate Butler/Till's capabilities into Local-specific value across corporate and field marketing audiences
o Working knowledge of the mechanics that make Local hard: co-op funding, brand-vs-local tension, multi-location attribution, and field enablement
o Comfortable operating without a quota; motivated by category ownership and relationship outcomes, not just closed revenue
o Collaborative by instinct; works well across marketing, growth, and leadership without siloing
o Existing Local/franchise network is a plus; ability to build one quickly is the minimum
CORE COMPETENCIES
โ€ข CUSTOMER FOCUS/CLIENT INTIMACY: seeking to understand client business challenges/needs and delivering continuous value to our clients
โ€ข COLLABORATIVE: working with teams and across the organization with ease
โ€ข OWNER AGILITY: able to continuously learn and quickly adapt to changing circumstance
โ€ข RESULTS DRIVEN: accepts accountability to deliver business outcomes, even under changing circumstances. Delivers on commitments
โ€ข DISCIPLINED: Thinks, plans, and prioritizes work on an ongoing basis, plans and aligns with key team members before acting
