Job description


CALIBRE Systems, inc, an employee owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company, is seeking an IT Project Manager to support Broadcom (VMware) Professional Services engagements. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering VMware infrastructure and virtualization projects for commercial and federal clients.
The Project Manager will lead medium-complexity engagements focused on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere modernization, NSX, vSAN, Aria Operations, and related infrastructure transformation initiatives. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

    • Budget tracking
    • Schedules and task dependencies
    • Risk registers and mitigation strategies

Coordination & Delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including:
    • VMware architects and engineers
    • Infrastructure SMEs
    • Security teams
    • Customer technical and business stakeholders
  • Orchestrate resource alignment with internal delivery managers and Broadcom Professional Services stakeholders.
  • Ensure deliverables align with customer technical requirements and contractual objectives.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify, document, and manage risks across technical and organizational domains.
  • Proactively implement mitigation strategies to prevent schedule or cost impacts.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining solution-oriented communication.

Financial & Schedule Management
  • Track project budgets, burn rates, and forecasts.
  • Monitor milestone adherence and critical path dependencies.
  • Support earned value tracking where applicable.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on:
    • Schedule performance
    • Budget status
    • Risks and mitigation actions
    • Key milestones
  • Facilitate status meetings and executive briefings.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to drive satisfaction and repeat business.

Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Follow established PM methodologies (PMI, Agile, Hybrid).
  • Support refinement of templates, dashboards, and reporting artifacts.

Contribute to lessons learned and knowledge management repositories.
Required Skills
  • PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with:
    • VMware vSphere
    • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
    • NSX, vSAN, Aria Suite
    • Hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments
  • Experience supporting Broadcom Expert Advantage Program (EAP) engagements.
  • Familiarity with federal IT project delivery environments (if applicable).
  • Experience using tools such as:
    • MS Project
    • Jira
    • ServiceNow
    • Smartsheet

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in IT, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7 years of technical project management experience.
  • Experience managing:
    • VMware infrastructure projects
    • Virtualization modernization efforts
    • Data center or cloud migration initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience developing:
    • Project plans
    • Schedules
    • Budgets
    • Risk management plans
  • Experience coordinating technical engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
