Senior Cloud Platform Engineer – VMware VCF

Location: Dallas, TX
Preference: Local candidates preferred
Experience: 8–10+ years
Work Model: Onsite/Hybrid – as required
Engagement: Contract

Position Summary

Seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain next-generation private cloud infrastructure using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9. The role focuses on virtualization, automation, high availability, security, and modernization within a highly regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage enterprise VMware VCF 9, vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
  • Implement VMware NSX networking and security, including micro-segmentation and RBAC.
  • Manage VMware Aria Automation and Aria Operations.
  • Develop automated VM lifecycle and infrastructure workflows using Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
  • Build API integrations using VMware REST APIs.
  • Support RHEL and Windows Server environments.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, IPAM, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
  • Optimize CPU, memory, storage, and overall platform performance.
  • Support SAN/NAS, vSAN, and enterprise compute infrastructure.
  • Implement security, compliance, disaster recovery, and regulatory controls.
  • Drive IaC and modern platform engineering practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support.
Required Skills
  • 8–10+ years of enterprise virtualization/infrastructure experience.
  • Strong hands-on VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter.
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9) and SDDC Manager.
  • VMware NSX.
  • VMware Aria Automation & Aria Operations.
  • Ansible, Python, Terraform.
  • VMware REST APIs and automation.
  • RHEL and Windows Server administration.
  • Enterprise networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPAM.
  • SAN/NAS, vSAN, and compute infrastructure.
  • Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in highly regulated/financial environments.
Preferred
  • Red Hat OpenShift or VMware Tanzu.
  • Public cloud experience.
  • VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, VCAP, or VCIX.
