We are seeking a Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our team in Doral, Florida. In this role, you will lead engineering, modernization, administration, and optimization efforts for enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments supporting Department of Defense missions. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for VMware Horizon environments, VDI lifecycle management, cybersecurity compliance, systems engineering activities, and enterprise virtualization solutions supporting mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities
• Lead engineering and modernization efforts for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments supporting DoD missions, driving requirements analysis, solution design, and lifecycle documentation in alignment with DoD 5000.02 processes.
• Engineer, manage, and optimize enterprise VDI platforms including VMware Horizon 2512, image creation, application layering, profile management, and performance tuning.
• Administer and enhance VDI ecosystem components including Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), App Volumes, Instant Clone Pools, FSLogix for O365, and user experience optimization tools.
• Troubleshoot complex VDI issues including pool configuration changes, vCenter-related desktop failures, image-related defects, and performance degradation across distributed environments.
• Maintain and update VDI Gold Images, executing monthly patch cycles, application updates, and secure baseline enforcement.
• Ensure technical integrity and compliance of engineering deliverables across ISO/IEC 15288 Technical, Enterprise, and Agreement process areas.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including architecture diagrams, system design documents, engineering plans, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.
• Support cybersecurity compliance activities including STIG implementation, RMF artifact development, secure baseline management, and continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and customer stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure VDI operations.
• Provide technical guidance and support for VDI engineering initiatives and modernization efforts. Qualifications
Required:
• Active Secret Clearance
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
• Five (5) or more years of systems engineering or VDI engineering experience
• Eight (8) or more years of information technology experience
• Experience supporting VMware Horizon VDI environments
• Experience administering VMware ESXi and vCenter environments
• Experience supporting VDI image management and enterprise virtualization technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen Desired:
• Experience with VMware Horizon 2512
• Experience supporting Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), App Volumes, Instant Clone Pools, and FSLogix
• Experience with cloud-based or hybrid VDI solutions
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies
