Job description

Medical Optometrist Job with a Private Ophthalmology Practice. Fantastic Team, State of the Art Set Up and Ready for You!

Our group is well loved by the patients in our community! The practice has a Google review score of 4.9 out 5 from over 300+ reviews.

Solid growth exceeds current provider capacity in this thriving 2 MD/1 OD, two-office practice in scenic Idaho. This mature Idaho practice is located in two distinct markets, 30 miles apart, which give it the broadest reach of any ophthalmology practice in the region.

The first office location services two culturally diverse university towns located within 10 miles of each other. These communities provide an excellent mix of patients with an overall catchment area approaching 60,000. This office is a spacious and contemporary 7300 sq. ft. facility built in 2010. It features 7 Haag-Streit equipped lanes, a procedure / (RO-RO) Intralase/VISX LASIK suite and an impressive 700 frame optical gallery. A detached, multi-specialty ASC is conveniently located next door. A full-service, in-house audiology department keeps busy with diagnostic testing and hearing aid sales under the direction of a licensed audiologist with nearly 30 years of experience. Local competition includes only one other full-service, 1.5-MD ophthalmology practice.

The second office location is an impressive 9500 sqft MOB-ASC completed in late 2015. This architecturally stunning facility is strategically positioned on a bluff overlooking the town and its nearby rivers. This facility hosts contemporary optical services, a full-service audiology department directed by a doctor of audiology, 7 exam lanes and an attached ASC. The ophthalmic-only ASC features Lensx, ORA aberrometry, Nd:YAG, a brand-new Centurion phaco and a cheerful, vibrant nursing staff. This valley community of 50,000 has a catchment approaching 80,000. Local competition includes only one other full-service, two-MD ophthalmology practice that is not co-management friendly, and another OD-based practice that hosts out-of-town surgeons for a predominately co-managed model. Our group offers a healthy mix of co-management and word-of-mouth referrals which caters to this growing retirement community.

Average annual patient encounters exceed 17,000 and steady growth ensures the optometrist will be instantly busy providing the wide spectrum of services.

While this is a co-management friendly practice, it relies mainly on word of mouth and PCP referrals, tastefully supplemented with community outreach marketing. The new optometrist will be assisted by talented and friendly staff committed to helping build and grow their practice within the framework of the region’s premier MD-OD eye center. Experienced technicians and scribes work up patients and chart for the provider, allowing the optometrist to maintain their clinical focus. An established EHR and a broad line up of diagnostic technologies enable the optometrist to provide patients with exceptional care in an efficient manner.

A generous compensation package will be offered along with great benefits, including medical/dental insurance, profit-sharing and 401K. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the qualified candidate who desires to practice in the beautiful state of Idaho.
