Summary:

The Data Visualization Specialist shall utilize data to create data visualization and reporting products to support executive-level leadership, J-Code Directorate, MSC, and D-staff decision making and strategic planning. These products are due on a recurring and ad-hoc basis. Data visualization products will be integrated into reports as necessary and include charts, graphs, tables, and other formats that support the data presented to its audience.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and produce recurring reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis to senior HQ leadership, J-code Directorates, D-staff offices, and MSC organizations.
  • As requested, and in coordination with DL staff, provide reports on an ad-hoc basis for engagements, events, briefs, or meetings.
  • Produce data visualization products such as charts, graphs, and tables to supplement congressional and legislative reports.
  • Provide the following:
    • Weekly Congressional action report and data visualization products (as necessary).
    • Monthly Vice Director report of closed actions and data visualization products (as necessary).
    • Annual DL report, to include HQC and MSC data and visualization products.
    • Ad-hoc reports to support congressional and agency engagements, briefings, meetings, and events.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have experience with the following programs of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project Management
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and maintain tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Must have a minimum 5 years' experience that is directly related to the following duties and responsibilities:
    • Experience across both COTS and custom developed user interfaces for data visualization
    • Develops visualizations to manipulate complex datasets in simple, intuitive, interactive formats
    • Independently designs and develops data visualizations to provide actionable insights for addressing strategic and tactical mission objectives
    • Develops visualizations to manipulate medium complexity datasets in simple, intuitive, interactive formats
    • Experience with custom-developed visualizations using D3, HTML, JavaScript, etc.
    • Experiences with COTS enterprise data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, SAP Lumira)
    • Ability to work iteratively with the business community to gather requirements and develop enterprise level visualizations using agile methods
    • Experience developing data visualizations against ERP transactional and analytical data models
    • Creates medium complexity queries, stored procedures to deliver dynamic data visualizations
  • Must possess IT-III security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with written Inquiries (NACI) at time of proposal submission

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
