Job Description

The Java Platform Operations Senior Analyst has the day-to-day operations accountability for specific applications. The Sr. Analyst works closely with team leadership to ensure integration of operations and maintenance to team standards. He/she will have experience in Agile/Lean, DevOps, and an understanding of the tools to support such as ALM, Kanban, etc. He/she exhibits a high service attitude and operations discipline to deliver a 24x7, highly-available and highly-performing, production applications.

He/she reviews incidents and project deliverables insuring his/her activities meet or exceed service level agreements, and that requested work is completed on time. He/she will look for opportunities to drive down the MTTR and MTBF with a focus on the automation of any repetitive tasks, proactive notification, and application self-healing. He/she has proven experience in the system operations and administration of multiple applications.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience*: 7+

Others: College Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience


Technical Skills

Administration of Microsoft Windows Platform.

Scripting languages such as Visual Basic Script, Java Script, PowerShell, Shell/Bash, and automation.

Experience supporting J2EE Applications in an enterprise environment.

Knowledge and experience with Vignette, Oracle WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat, IBM WAS/eWAS, JBOSS, Oracle Java, Eclipse IDE, IBM Rational, IBM HTTP, IBM Build Forge, Linux Platform, and Oracle are a plus.

Basic knowledge of LANS/WANS (firewalls, proxy servers, load balancing hardware, network devices), Microsoft Clustering, .NET, SAN, SMTP, SQL, and Knowledge of Active Directory.

Demonstrated ability to specify data collection and thresholds and to analyze complex results. Provides recommendations or solutions including basics linear trending. Exhibits knowledge of management reporting process and guidelines.

Ability to participate in the business impact assessment and risk assessment processes and help identify appropriate controls to mitigate identified risks. Understands and can communicate requirements of member firms and external regulatory bodies for data privacy.

Defines infrastructure architecture and ensures architectural standards are applied and aligned to enterprise architecture principles; Identifies potential risk of proposed infrastructure strategies; Ensures alignment of systems design to underlying infrastructure architecture

Demonstrates expertise of IT governance concepts. Understands and able to manage the relationships of all OIM relevant stakeholders. Understand the portfolio and the business drivers of the various components. Supports the execution of the primary goals of IT Governance.

Knowledge of performance testing process and methodology for different types of software projects. Knowledge of standard performance testing processes and techniques. Strong ability to understand business requirements. Provides strong analysis of performance testing results.

Contributes to and is consulted during design activities and applies some architecture design techniques; Leverages design activities for cross-functional purposes

Monitors consistency in written materials; Assesses the audience needs and level of understanding for written materials; Contributes samples and leading practices in the area of written materials

Builds collaborative alliances with major external technology vendors and understands critical information about future-oriented technologies; Directly manages the contracting of service agreements and influences vendors regarding product development / enhancements based on organizational objectives

Understanding of the concepts and principles behind DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Agile, Lean, Kanban, etc.

ITIL v3 certification/expense a plus
