What You'll Do
The Vice President, Global Retail Experience & Visual Merchandising will define and lead the global vision for Sol de Janeiro's physical brand experience across all retail environments. This leader will drive the creative strategy, development, and execution of innovative visual merchandising, retail design, and immersive consumer experiences that elevate the brand and strengthen our global retail presence.
Partnering closely with Global Marketing, Commercial, Product Marketing, Creative, Regional Teams, and Retail Partners, this executive will ensure every consumer touchpoint reflects our bold brand identity while delivering best-in-class retail execution. The ideal candidate is an inspiring creative leader who combines strategic thinking with exceptional design sensibility and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Working On
Global Retail Experience Strategy
  • Define and execute the global retail experience vision across all channels, including Sephora, specialty retail, travel retail, and emerging distribution partners.
  • Develop innovative retail concepts supporting new product launches, seasonal campaigns, hero product initiatives, and brand storytelling.
  • Establish global visual merchandising standards that create a consistent yet locally relevant consumer experience.
  • Drive innovation across physical retail experiences, identifying emerging trends, technologies, and new merchandising opportunities.

Visual Merchandising & Retail Design
  • Lead the creative development of permanent and temporary retail environments, including open-sell systems, freestanding fixtures, shop-in-shops, pop-ups, and flagship experiences.
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance and evolution of global merchandising systems to ensure consistency across markets.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to create impactful merchandising strategies that drive conversion, productivity, and brand awareness.
  • Champion sustainable design principles through thoughtful material selection, fixture development, and responsible production practices.

Creative Leadership & Concept Development
  • Translate marketing briefs into compelling consumer experiences that support global campaigns and product launches.
  • Lead concept development from ideation through execution, ensuring creative excellence across every retail touchpoint.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, Commercial, and Regional teams to align retail experiences with brand objectives and business goals.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Build strong partnerships with Global Marketing, Product Marketing, Commercial, Creative Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Regional teams.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest creative standards.
  • Effectively manage priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global Retail Experience and Visual Merchandising organization.

What You'll Bring
  • 12+ years of progressive experience leading Global Retail Experience, Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, or Store Design within prestige beauty, luxury, fashion, or premium consumer brands.
  • Proven experience leading global retail experience strategies across multiple international markets.
  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating excellence in retail environments, visual merchandising systems, experiential marketing, and brand storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of retail design, fixture development, consumer behavior, and omnichannel retail execution.
  • Experience partnering with major global retailers, including Sephora, Ulta, department stores, and specialty retail partners.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing creative teams.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, balancing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
