About The Role

Ashley HomeStore is looking for talented people that have a desire to learn and grow in their career. If that is you, we would love for you to apply to our posting for a Part-time Visual Merchandiser (VM). Our VM's are responsible for all aspects of the visual merchandise presentation within the store, emphasizing exciting visual displays and supporting internal and external customer service.

What you will be doing each day:

  • Supports company standards and Core Values, supports a positive work climate, embraces training, education and development, and functions professionally and efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively space plan furniture by style category without a set plan-o-gram
  • Create eye catching displays using design fundamentals, appropriate accessories and artwork.
  • Responsible for accurately receiving, tagging and transferring merchandise in a timely and creative placement within the retail showroom.
  • Create all the tags for merchandise and attach computer tags to the merchandise.
  • Tag all advertised items and closeout items from the Furniture Buyers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a floor call up list on all floor merchandise and transfer merchandise, utilized through reports.
  • Keep a running NOF (Not On Floor) List
  • Monthly meeting/s to go over accessories on the floor, style mix, display, and other pertinent information to the sales team.
  • Provide feedback to peers, management, and employees in the organization; participate in the VM meetings/calls.
  • Various duties as directed by Store Manager and Buyers; additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Higher education in design/creative field and or one year related experience
  • Strong knowledge of Interior Design, trends, furniture style categories, and understanding of color theory.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook.
  • Present a helpful and welcoming attitude towards guests and other staff
  • Adapt to change easily
  • Work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deal with problems professionally.
