Job description

2D Graphic Designer, Visual Merchandising
About the Role
Tarte is looking for a talented 2D Graphic Designer to join our Visual Merchandising team. Our team creates disruptive, easy-to-shop in-store graphics that balance strong brand storytelling with functionality in retail spaces.
This role works across permanent and promotional fixtures, seasonal updates, windows, and pop-ups, partnering closely with Trade Marketing, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams from concept through final production and release.
What You'll Do
• Create easy-to-shop graphics for seasonal gondola updates and permanent fixtures across multiple retailers.
• Develop artwork for promotional spaces including endcaps, tables, towers, windows, pop-ups, and in-store animations.
• Contribute to concepting and brainstorming for seasonal programs and live merch decks, offering ideas and visual solutions.
• Produce print-ready files that meet retailer-specific specs, production requirements, and timelines.
• Collaborate with Trade Marketing to bring campaigns to life while maintaining brand consistency across retailers and regions.
• Adapt and roll out artwork for international markets, including adjustments for language, currency, and regional preferences (translations provided).
• Oversee a high volume of projects per season, partnering with Project Managers to ensure accuracy, organization, and on-time delivery.
• Manage routing updates and feedback implementation, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected prior to release.
• Stay current on design trends while maintaining a strong understanding of the beauty industry.
• Assist team initiatives by sharing resources, best practices, and supporting other designers during peak periods.
What We're Looking For
• BFA/BA in Graphic Design or a related field.
• 2-3+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably within retail, visual merchandising, or a production-heavy marketing environment.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Hands-on experience with print production, including file setup, specs, scaling, and mechanical accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• A collaborative, proactive, and adaptable team player with a positive attitude
Our Perks
  • Salary range: $66,500-75,000 (Compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill level, relevant work experience & education)
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401K plan & access to health & wellness programs
  • Paid vacation, holidays, summer Fridays, birthdays off, volunteer time & more
  • Makeup gratis, employee discount on tarte.com, team give back initiatives
  • Friendly, fun, creative & collaborative work environment

Tarte is an equal opportunity employer.
