Job description

From primary to specialty care, as well as walk-in and virtual services, CHI Health Clinic delivers more options and better access so you can spend time on what matters: being healthy. We offer more than 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations; with some clinics offering extended hours.


This is a PRN position for Maternal Fetal Medicine, with no on-call duties, holidays, or weekends.

As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

  • Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.
  • Provides patient education as appropriate.
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathering proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure.
  • Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.
  • Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated.

Required

  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program., upon hire and
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN, within 6 - months or
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire


Preferred

  • Six to nine months ultrasound experience
