Visual Inspector / Baytown, TX 1
LOCATION: Baytown - Texas - USA
DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS
Purpose
Performs visual inspection of pipe end areas to identify, mark, and assist in repairing defects on seamless pipes in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all work is performed in accordance with work instructions and procedures while maintaining compliance with Tenaris Quality Standards
Main Activities
- Ensures instruments are in good condition, checking their calibration date is not expiratied date and correctly functioning.
- Verifiies light intensity and other gauges are within tolerance.
- Performs pipe external and internal visual inspection of up to 24" from the end.
- Carries out defect identification, marking, & repair.
- Identifies pipes in accordance to the production order.
- Updates information in the tracking systems.
- Support rework preparation activities when needed.
- Performs housekeeping of own workstation and Finishing line if needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications for the Job
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice small imperfections
- Basic understanding of manufacturing, production and quality processes
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in an industrial environment
- Dependable, self motivated, and safety focused
- Prior experience in manufacturing is helpful - training provided for candidates with transferable skills
