Job Title: Quality Technician | $21-22 HR | 1st Shift

Job Description

The Quality Technician supports plant operations by performing material inspections, managing quality documentation, and maintaining gage calibration records. This role combines hands-on inspection work with administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and use of specialized software to ensure product quality and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials within the plant to verify that they meet established quality standards and specifications.
• Perform visual inspections and use gages and other measurement tools to assess product quality.
• Scan Material Test Reports (MTRs) and certification documents, convert them to PDF, and save them in the appropriate digital folders for accurate recordkeeping.
• Complete Word and Excel forms to document certification numbers, MTR numbers, part numbers, and related quality data.
• Support the gage calibration process by organizing and tracking gages that require calibration.
• Enter purchase requisitions into the Infor system after receiving training, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.
• Package gages for shipment to calibration suppliers, following established procedures and labeling requirements.
• Receive gages returned from calibration suppliers and verify that all items and documentation are complete.
• Check gages into Gagepack software, update records, label gages appropriately, and store them in the correct locations.
• Maintain accurate and timely data entry for all quality assurance and inspection activities.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold quality control processes and support continuous improvement in inspection and documentation practices.

Essential Skills

• Quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform visual inspections and use gages for quality control.
• Comfort working on a computer for daily tasks.
• Proficiency in data entry with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Experience with quality assurance or quality control processes.
• Ability to complete and manage documentation using Word and Excel.
• Capability to learn and use systems such as Infor and Gagepack with training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Administrative experience supporting production or quality functions.
• Familiarity with blueprint or drawing interpretation for quality inspection.
• Experience with quality control tools and methods in a plant environment.
• Exposure to enterprise systems such as Infor for purchase requisitions.
• Experience working with gage calibration programs or similar quality systems.

Work Environment

The facility includes two main areas aligned with different product lines, Instrumentation and Filtration, providing exposure to varied manufacturing processes. The plant is well organized, supporting efficient workflows and clear storage locations for gages and materials. The environment is not temperature controlled, but conditions are described as generally comfortable and not excessively hot or cold. Team members use computers, scanners, and software tools such as Infor and Gagepack as part of their daily work, combining hands-on inspection tasks with digital documentation and data entry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Strongsville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
