Job description

Position Overview

La Senza is seeking a Visual Merchandising Lead. This role will create and execute the Visual Merchandising Strategy and provide thought-partnership to ensure that we meet our sales expectations and bring growth opportunities in Canada. The Visual Merchandising lead has significant cross-functional collaboration with Merchandising, Creative, and Store Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product presentation planning for all seasonal floor sets and account for variances across store prototypes.
  • Collaborate on new stores & renovations to ensure departments expand/contract in a consistent manner which minimizes variances across the fleet.
  • Determine signage needs and integrate into presentations, brief Signage and Brand Creative teams on requests.
  • Oversee the creation of floorset documents for in-store execution in collaboration with Visual Coordinator.
  • Create a visual floorset strategy and collaborate with cross-functional partners on execution details ie: hours, assets, delivery timelines
  • Bring new ideas to keep evolving our visual merchandising strategies to reflect trends in the marketplace and the evolving needs of our customer.
  • Identify fixtures, accessories, props, and creative materials for displays for floorsets or seasonal presentations
  • Understand the upcoming product & promotional plans to ensure these activities are reflected into the visual plans.
  • Update visual standards and create training tools for stores to operationalize presentations across store prototypes. Provide ongoing training across field leadership & stores.
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends that will inform presentations and keep La Senza competitive and relevant in the ever-evolving retail landscape.
  • Lead the seasonal mapping strategy, assessing store navigation, key investments in collaboration with DMs, signing off on all maps.
  • Support stores with floorset execution, leverage time to train and coach store teams in collaboration with DMs. 

Skills

  • A portfolio of work showcasing experience in concepting window concepts, and building visual presentations for fashion retailers.
  • 5+ years of Visual Merchandising management experience with proven ability to train and develop others
  • Ability to travel across Canada for training and store execution, as well as travel to Columbus, Ohio to collaborate with home office teams.
  • Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to lead important strategic initiatives and multi-task.
  • Proven team management and leadership skills; can inspire and motivate teams to bring future state vision to life.
  • Ability to source and execute store concepts include props and other elements to bring storytelling to life.
  • Strong presentation skills required, with ablility to collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives.
  • Adaptability to affect change in a rapid, read-and-react environment.
  • High degree of integrity and confidence in one's abilities as a business and visual leader.
  • Thrives in a high growth, ambiguous environment with an entrepreneurial, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
  • Bilingual English & French verbal communication; bilingual written communication an asset
  • Proven track record for building brands and achieving outstanding results
  • Open ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Some travel required for store visits & training and to home office - 10-20%.

This role reports to the VP Marketing and will manage one direct report.
