Job description

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Inside Sales Representative – Materials & Box Sales is responsible for growing RBO Technology’s material-only and box sales business by supporting existing accounts and expanding material spend across contractors, integrators, and end users. 

This role focuses on quote-to-order execution, account management, and material category growth across low-voltage systems including security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and structured cabling. The Inside Sales Representative partners closely with outside sales, estimating, procurement, and vendors to deliver fast, accurate pricing and reliable fulfillment. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Inside Sales & Account Management 

  • Own and grow assigned accounts focused on material-only and box sales
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer material orders
  • Quote cameras, hardware, cable, devices, racks, accessories, and related materials
  • Support outside sales with project and service material pricing
  • Follow up on quotes to close orders
  • Communicate pricing, lead times, and availability clearly

 Sales Support & Growth 

  • Maintain working knowledge of product lines and manufacturers 
  • Monitor pricing trends and supply chain conditions 
  • Support vendor promotions and sales initiatives
  • Maintain accurate CRM and ERP records 
  • Provide material sales reporting to leadership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2–5+ years of inside sales or material sales experience in low-voltage, electrical, or construction-related industries
  • Familiarity with box sales and account-based selling
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple quotes and orders simultaneously
  • Texas residency required
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience selling low-voltage materials (security, data, fire)
  • Experience supporting integrators or contractors
  • ERP, CRM, or quoting system experience
  • Distribution or supply house background

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Understanding of low-voltage material categories
  • Clear communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Business-minded approach to margin and retention
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Goal-driven and accountable

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position operates primarily in a professional office or hybrid environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and view plans and screens for extended periods. Occasional business travel may be required.
