Learning & Development GeneralistAt Bird, our Learning & Development team builds the capabilities that keep our people and our projects ahead of what comes next. We're looking for a Learning & Development Generalist who will be the connective tissue between our programs, our platforms, and the people who learn from them - and who will make every one of those touchpoints sharper, clearer, and more useful than the day before.

This position will be based out of our Edmonton (preferred) office, but can be based out of Calgary as well.What You Will Be Working On

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development, you'll provide end-to-end support across our learning programs and platforms.

Learning Operations

  • Be the first point of contact for learning inquiries through ServiceNow:triaging tickets, resolving Tier 1 issues (program inquiries, course registrations, LMS troubleshooting, attendance uploads), and escalating thoughtfully when needed.
  • Spot recurring questions and trends in the queue, and turn them into FAQs, knowledge articles, or process improvements that prevent the next ticket.
  • Administer Workday Learningso what reaches our learners works:course and program setup, records management, vendor coordination, end-user support,and new content and configurationtesting.
  • Maintain and update SharePoint pages and resources for Learning & Development, including our national calendar and learning events.
  • Maintain learning process documentation(guides, templates, and SOPs)to ensureconsistentdeliveryas we scale.
  • Support team members by moderating virtual sessions for large audiences and ensuring smooth participant experience.

Communications, Reporting & Storytelling

  • Prepare monthly learning data, analytics, and reporting;then translate the numbers into clear insights for leaders: what happened, why it matters, and what to do next.
  • Create and distribute internal communications across channels to drive program awareness and adoption.
  • Support the developmentand maintenance oflearning collateral(e.g.,reusable templates, infographic-style job aids,andPowerPoint assets)aligned with Bird's brand standards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Bring a growth mindset by identifying opportunities and sharing ideas that make our approach more impactful and efficient.
  • Support the enhancement ofexisting programs and contribute to broader project work.

  • Learning Operations -You bring the discipline to coordinate programs reliably at scale(catalog structure, publishing workflows, vendor support, data accuracy)and the judgment to know when to follow the process and when to improve it.

  • Learning Technology Administration -You're comfortable inside an LMS (Workday Learning ideally), can troubleshoot user and configuration issues, and care about data integrity, privacy, and accessibility as much as functionality.

  • Learning Content Creation -You produce polished, on-brand visual and written assets (templates, infographics, job aids, multimedia) that offer clarity and accessibility.

  • Communications -You can take a metric, a program update, or a change story and turn it into a clear, audience-aware message(visual or written)that resonates and drives action.

  • Collaboration -You build trusted working relationshipsandpartner effectively across teams and functionsby listening, sharing knowledge openly, inviting input early, and contributing tosharedoutcomes.

What We Are Looking For
  • Certificate or undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CPHR designation is an asset.

  • 3+ years' experience inLearning & Development,Human Resources, or a related coordination environment.

  • Demonstrated experience producing recurring metrics or dashboards for stakeholders.

  • Intermediateproficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting and analysis (pivot tables, charts); experience with Workday, SharePoint, and Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset.

  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of work, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and critical thinking.
