Join the team that brought you the Echo Show and Echo Spot, touch-screen enabled Alexa devices that supports video calling, music, weather, and more! Our Echo Software team works on not only the Echo Show but other high-profile consumer electronics products including Fire TV, Kindle, and the Echo family of devices. In this role, you will:
- Invent new experiences for our customers.
- Collaborate with UX and Product owners to define customer experience and product direction.
- Deliver high quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Building software that enables integration of Alexa voice and multi-modal services into compelling applications that run on millions of Echo family devices, and Alexa-enabled Devices.
- Driving engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) and setting high standards by taking proactive measures to fix deficiencies and make continous improvement of end product.
- Adopting, innovating, and driving efficiencies using Gen AI tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and deployment.
- Contribute to the professional growth of team members through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and promoting engineering best practices
A day in the life
In this role, you will build software experiences that millions of customers use daily. You will design and implement multi-modal applications that blend voice, touch, and visual interfaces into seamless experiences.
You will own features end-to-end - from requirements through deployment - collaborating with UX and Product to navigate ambiguity and make tradeoff decisions. You will embrace AI-native development, leveraging Gen AI tools across the entire SDLC: design, code generation, testing, and deployment.
You will drive engineering excellence through code reviews, operational best practices, and mentoring teammates - all in a fast-paced Agile environment where customer impact is immediate and the opportunity to invent is constant.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
