Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op - Fall (September 2026-December 2026)

Today, we design, manufacture, and personalize contactless credit cards, 3D print highly detailed prototypes & parts, and use digital content to elevate the customer experience in a secure envelope. These are just a few of the things we do.
About the Internship
Join a hands-on professional development internship designed to immerse you in modern print technologies while building a continuous improvement mindset. Through structured rotations and real production work, you'll gain practical experience, contribute to day-to-day outcomes, and develop specialized skills across advanced manufacturing workflows.
Rotations may include:

  • Prepress: Digital Design & CAD Rendering
  • Screen Printing
  • Lithographic Printing
  • Digital Offset
  • 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing)
What You'll Do As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support production teams and learn end-to-end workflows from design-to-print-to-finished product. Key responsibilities:
  • Support the prepress flow:Prepare files, help design graphic elements, andmaintainan organized, error-proofed production workflow; verify assets meet specs for printing, die-cutting, and finishing.
  • Assistwith equipment setup and operation:Learn and support setup/operation of digital presses, screen printers, and finishing equipment while meeting safety, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Prototype and iterate:Create prototypes using CAD and additive manufacturing; support testing and iterate designs based on results and feedback.
  • Help deliverright-first-time output:Read and interpret job tickets; support revisions and art approvals;assistwith job imposition and production setup accuracy.
  • Contribute to process improvement:Identifywaste and bottlenecks; support improvements in setup, makeready, color control, and materialutilization; help build standard work and visual controls.
  • Work cross-functionally:Partner with R&D on new materials/processes; work with Quality to meet specifications and customer/regulatory standards;participatein structured print tests and basic DOEs.
  • Support troubleshooting:Use data to help diagnose print defects and variability;assistwith root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support throughput and customer needs:Provide design-for-manufacture input, highlight cost/time-saving opportunities, and flag risks that couldimpactdelivery.
  • Document learning:Maintainrun logs, change notes, and lessons learned; support playbooks/SOPs to scale best practices.
What We're Looking For Required / preferred qualifications:
  • Currentlypursuing aBachelor's degree in Design, Print, Packaging, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Comfortable with digital tools and production workflows (design, file prep, version control, etc.).
  • CAD experience preferred; ability to read technical drawings is a plus.
  • Solid analytical and numeracy skills; comfort using data to support decisions.
  • Additive manufacturing experience is a plus.
