Job description

Netflix Animation Studios is on a mission to entertain the world with bold, immersive animated films that are timeless and impactful. We are paving the way for the future of animation by building a community of amazing artists and talent across three vibrant locations globally. Come join us!

The Netflix Animation Studios Content Team is looking for a proactive and creatively driven Content Coordinator for the Original Animated Features Content team. In this role, you will serve as a critical organizational force while also providing deep creative support for our diverse slate of feature films. You will be at the heart of the development and production process, collaborating closely with our executives, filmmakers, and cross-functional teams to bring our stories to life.

About The Team:

The Animated Film Content team is driving much of the creative inception at the studio, responsible for steering the development of our animated film slate. This visionary team collaborates with writers, directors, and artists to nurture fresh ideas and transform them into captivating films. By overseeing the creative process from concept to completion, they ensure each project aligns with our studio's vision and resonates with audiences worldwide. With a keen eye for storytelling and innovation, the Animated Film Content team crafts narratives that are not only entertaining but also deeply engaging, cementing our studio's reputation for excellence in animation.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

Creative Strategy & Show Support

  • Creative Evaluation & Coverage: Review incoming creative materials (scripts, outlines, bibles, storyboards) and provide timely, actionable, and thoughtful coverage for executives.
  • Strategic Partnership: Support the Lead Executive by taking detailed notes during show meetings, driving meeting preparation, setting agendas, and ensuring review documents are finalized ahead of critical check-ins.
  • Development Research: Conduct deep-dive creative research on key titles during the early development phase, and provide Netflix-facing support for filmmaker research trips (including finance and security coordination).
  • Production Logistics: Support critical milestone tracking, anticipate a showโ€™s pivotal moments, and draft initial passes at critical show documentation (e.g., greenlight and pivot memos).

Talent Discovery & Industry Networking

  • Talent Sourcing: Support targeted writer and talent searches based on executive needs. This includes soliciting samples, curating and assembling batches, checking availabilities, and facilitating filmmaker meetings.
  • Industry Engagement: Cultivate and maintain active relationships with covering agents, managers, and industry peers to consistently source top-tier writing and directing samples.
  • Creator Meetings: Participate in general meetings with emerging filmmakers and join executives in high-level pitches to help evaluate incoming material.

Operations & Cross-Functional Support

  • Cross-Functional Point-of-Contact: Serve as a primary liaison connecting filmmakers with critical cross-functional departments (Production, Business & Legal Affairs, Marketing, Consumer Products, PR), providing resources and keeping partners aligned on the latest show status.
  • Deal & Onboarding Execution: Assist with the seamless onboarding of key Above-the-Line (ATL) creative hires (Directors, Writers, Creative Producers) into the Netflix ecosystem. Trigger payments for creative deliverables in partnership with BALA, maintaining internal applications for deal creation and tracking.
  • Information Architecture: Maintain and optimize internal trackers, apps, and drives to ensure seamless information sharing. Continuously identify and implement efficiencies in file management, communication channels, and overall team operations.
  • Submission Management: Field incoming pitches, meticulously log submissions, and coordinate coverage on writing and visual development samples.
What Youโ€™ll Need:
  • Experience: 3+ years of robust industry work experience, ideally within a studio, network, production company, agency, or management firm (prior experience as a Coordinator, Executive Assistant, or Production Supervisor preferred).
  • Pipeline Literacy: Deep, direct familiarity with the feature animation workflow (Story, Visual Development, Editorial, Post) and studio production pipelines.
  • Industry Acumen: Proven experience and high comfort level collaborating with top-level internal and external talent, filmmakers, and senior executives.
  • Business & Operational Acumen: Strong organizational discipline with a baseline understanding of Above-The-Line deal structures, talent representation, and cross-functional studio operations.
  • Passion: A deep, demonstrable passion for Animated Features and/or Kids & Family Content. You should be an avid consumer of animation with strong opinions on storytelling and the current landscape.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and professional writing skills, with the ability to distill complex creative discussions into clear, actionable notes and executive memos.
  • Agility & Autonomy: A self-starter who takes initiative, anticipates bottlenecks, and effectively multitasks within a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
