Job description

The Senior Brand Designer leads the strategy and execution of high-quality visual storytelling that elevates Purdue Federal Credit Union's brand. This role is grounded in advanced graphic design expertise to support marketing campaigns, member education, social media, corporate and internal communications, with the desire to build skills in video production and motion graphics over time. Serving as a senior creative partner within the Marketing team, this position owns and stewards the organization's visual brand identity, ensuring creative excellence, brand consistency, and alignment with organizational goals through engaging, audience-focused, and compliant creative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Creative Strategy, Design & Storytelling
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of visual assets across print, digital, and environmental channels, translating marketing and communication objectives into compelling creative solutions.
  • Lead creative ideation for campaigns and initiatives, applying strong design judgment to ensure work is visually impactful, strategically sound and on brand.
  • Transform complex, regulatory, or technical information into clear, engaging, and member-friendly visual communications.

Visual Brand Management & Quality Control
  • Own and evolve the organization's visual brand identity, ensuring all creative assets consistently reflect established brand standards, design principles, and visual identity.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the organization's visual identity system, recommending updates and improvements that keep the brand modern, consistent, and effective across channels.
  • Review, approve and refine creative assets to maintain accuracy, quality and brand integrity.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to uphold design standards across signage, displays, print production and digital executions.

Project, Vendor & Workflow Management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creativity, timelines and business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with external vendors as needed, including photographers, videographers, printers and signage vendors, to support production and manage specifications, proofs, budgets and final deliverables, particularly for advanced video and photography needs.
  • Ensure all creative assets meet disclosure, regulatory and compliance requirements while maintaining high design and production standards.

Professional Development
  • Maintain expertise in graphic design and emerging design trends, while demonstrating a willingness and propensity to learn video production through ongoing training and skill development.
  • Actively pursue training, mentorship or self-directed learning to grow video and motion content capabilities as part of long-term career development.
  • Seek feedback, adopt best practices and continuously improve creative processes in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
Additional Requirements:
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required; familiarity with Premiere Pro and After Effects is a plus, with a willingness to learn these tools required.
  • Strong expertise in layout, typography, color theory, brand storytelling and visual hierarchy.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn video editing, motion graphics, and basic animation for digital platforms; prior experience is a plus but not required.
  • Openness to learning video production equipment, including lighting and audio, with the ability to grow into supporting shoots over time.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Collaborative, self-directed professional comfortable working independently and with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees, members, vendors, and external partners.
