Vision Express typically provides onboarding support and ongoing training to help staff adapt and thrive in their roles.

What is the difference between Vision Express vs Optometrist?

AspectVision Express
RoleRetail optical chain providing eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses
CredentialsOptometrists employed by Vision Express typically hold a degree in optometry and are registered professionals
Work EnvironmentRetail stores, customer-facing, with a focus on sales and eye health services
Services OfferedEye exams, glasses, contact lenses, and minor eye health assessments

While Vision Express employs licensed optometrists to perform eye exams and provide eye care services, an Optometrist is a licensed healthcare professional who can diagnose and treat a broader range of eye conditions independently. Vision Express is a retail chain that offers optometry services as part of its customer service, whereas an Optometrist is a standalone healthcare provider. Both roles require optometry credentials, but the scope and setting differ.

Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, appointment booking software, and optical equipment is typically required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a friendly, approachable manner help you provide tailored advice and build customer trust. These skills ensure customers receive accurate information, a positive experience, and the right products for their needs.
