About the Job:

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized Fashion Designer to lead the design and development of Delphine, our women's eveningwear brand. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role that will partner with the Creative Director to develop each collection from concept through final production. Working closely with Product Development, Technical Design, and domestic and overseas factory partners, you will oversee every stage of the design process—from seasonal research and sketching to fittings, fabric development, and final approvals. Responsibilities:

• Lead the seasonal design process for Delphine across all categories, developing cohesive collections that align with the brand's aesthetic, business objectives, and customer.
• Research seasonal trends, fabrics, colors, silhouettes, embellishment techniques, and market opportunities to create commercially successful collections.
• Create original sketches, CADs, technical flats, and detailed design packages for development and production.
• Select fabrics, trims, laces, embroideries, prints, and embellishments that support the design vision while meeting costing and production requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Product Development throughout the development process to ensure designs are executed accurately, on time, and within budget.
• Review and approve prototypes, fit samples, SMS, and pre-production samples, providing clear and detailed comments to domestic and overseas factories.
• Attend fit sessions and work with Technical Design to achieve desired fit, proportion, construction, and overall garment quality.
• Partner with Product Development and Production to balance creativity with manufacturability, target costs, and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with overseas and domestic vendors to develop exclusive fabrics, trims, embroidery placements, and special construction techniques.
• Maintain design boards, seasonal inspiration, color palettes, and presentation materials throughout each development cycle.
• Participate in merchandising reviews to ensure collections offer the appropriate assortment, pricing architecture, and product mix.
• Continuously identify opportunities for innovation while maintaining the brand's signature aesthetic and high standards of craftsmanship.

Qualifications:

• 5–8 years of fashion design experience, with significant experience in women's eveningwear, cocktail, occasion dressing, or luxury ready-to-wear.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, draping, fit, and luxury sewing techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of luxury fabrics, lace, embroidery, beading, sequins, and specialty embellishment techniques.
• Proven experience designing collections from concept through production with both domestic and overseas manufacturing partners.
• Strong creative vision with the ability to translate trends into commercially successful product.
• Excellent sketching, illustration, CAD, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams, vendors, and factory partners.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Employment Type:

· Fulltime. Annual salary range $95,000–$110,000.

· Work type: In person in New York Office.

· Reports to Founder, Creative Director.
