System Administrator - Linux & Windows Workstations
Location: Waco, TX | 9/80 Schedule | On-Site | Contract
About the Role
Join a high-impact IT Infrastructure team as a System Administrator at our Waco, TX location. In this role, you will deploy, secure, and support Linux and Windows workstations for our engineering and technical staff, shaping the backbone of our technology operations. Work hands-on with cutting-edge platforms, collaborate with expert teams, and play a critical part in the efficiency and security of our development environment.
Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and manage Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Windows 10, and Windows 11 workstations
- Maintain and standardize workstation images and configuration baselines
- Administer Proxmox virtualization environments for testing and infrastructure
- Support and manage Atlassian Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins for engineering and DevOps teams
- Manage user accounts, authentication, permissions, and access controls
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, OS, application, and network issues
- Implement endpoint security, encryption, antivirus, and compliance solutions
- Automate administration tasks using Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- Streamline software deployment, patching, and developer tool installations
- Document standards, procedures, and technical workflows
- Work closely with engineering, cybersecurity, help desk, and DevOps teams to resolve incidents and drive improvements
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
