About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our enterprise technical environments. You will lead infrastructure upgrades, automate routine administrative tasks, and serve as the highest tier of internal technical support. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of system architecture and a strategic mindset to align our technology with broader business goals.

What you'll do
  • Infrastructure Design & Maintenance : Plan, test, and implement enterprise-level server, storage, and network configurations across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Automation & Scripting : Develop custom scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate repetitive administration tasks and maximize system efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance : Implement routine security patching, manage access controls through Active Directory, and perform vulnerability scanning to safeguard infrastructure.
  • Disaster Recovery : Design, test, and maintain robust data backup schedules, retention policies, and business continuity plans to guarantee zero data loss.
  • Performance Optimization : Monitor infrastructure health and fine-tune resource allocations to eliminate system bottlenecks and ensure high availability.
  • Technical Leadership : Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 2/3 engineering problems while coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Vendor & Project Management : Coordinate directly with external hardware, software, and cloud service vendors to evaluate new technologies and manage system migrations.
Qualifications Required
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience : 5–10 years of professional systems administration experience in a medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Operating Systems : Advanced expertise managing and troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS environments, Active Directory, Group Policies, or AWS deployments.
  • Virtualization & Cloud : Deep experience with virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper‑V, alongside cloud environments such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Networking Fundamentals : Strong grasp of core network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls.
  • Soft Skills : Excellent root‑cause problem‑solving capabilities under pressure, alongside the communication skills required to translate technical ideas to non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Platform experience : Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Rippling and Snowflake
  • Industry Exposure : Prior Exposure to fintech, insurance or broader finance services organizations.

The pay range for this role is:

105,000 - 130,000 USD per year (Cincinnati)

135,000 - 160,000 USD per year (New York)
