Regional Truck Driver CDL A - Home Every Weekend!

Company is the most popular brand of sausage in the United States and is available in more than 45 countries. The company remains privately owned and still relies on the same values and work ethic that the founding family instilled in its family-owned butcher shop. Due to continued growth, we are accepting applications for Regional Truck Driver CDL A in the Chicago area.
Compensation

  • Average annual salary is $95,000 to $100,000+ per year, which includes:
    • Activity based pay: mileage, per diem, stop pay, etc.
    • Speed/safety bonus per mile
    • Monthly profit-sharing bonus
    • Average 2300 miles/week
    • Hourly PTO pay based on tenure, $35-$50/hour
    • Typical work week is 50-55 hours per week
    • Bi-weekly paychecks

Work Schedule
  • Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday; 5 day work week; home every weekend
  • Start times vary, typically between 5am-1pm
  • Plan your own route, breaks, etc.; pre-scheduled appointments at most stops.
  • Uniforms provided at no cost
  • Dock deliveries, drop & hook, some backhauls and live-unload deliveries
  • Option to unload for additional income or hire lumping service
  • Park truck at Rte 83 Drop Lot or at personal residence
  • Must be flexible with work schedule
Responsibilities
  • Backing in and out of docks
  • Drive CDL trucks to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
  • Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of CDL A tractor-trailer experience and/or 100,000 miles OTR and/or Regional required.
  • Minimum 1 year of OTR and reefer experience highly preferred
  • Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, with air brakes endorsement.
  • Reefer experience preferred but not required
  • Experience delivering to foodservice warehouses preferred but not required
  • Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
  • Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
  • Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance
