Job description

Term: 4 weeks at 20 hours per week. Potential for extension.
Compensation: $22-$25 per hour
Location: Connecticut
Are you passionate about energy efficiency?
We have an opportunity for you to support various community-centric programs throughout the Midwest. This role will provide an introduction to energy efficiency across the region and will build research, communication, and outreach skills. We are seeking a candidate living in Connecticut with the ability to reach homes and businesses through a variety of communication channels, such as e-mail, Zoom, phone, events, and in-person site visits. Candidates must live in the territory and be passionate about energy efficiency, community engagement, and the environment. We are seeking someone who is a team player and will fill various roles as they are needed.
Position Qualifications:
  • Based in Connecticut.
  • Experience in engaging with various community groups.
  • Experience participating in Connecticut energy-related organizations or events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Access to internet.
  • Self-starter who is highly detail-oriented, organized and goal-focused.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with co-workers in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to appear professional on client calls and in-person meetings.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits.
  • Background in energy-efficient technologies preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Regular visits to small business to communicate the Energize CT Small Business Energy Advantage (SBEA) offering.
  • Research past participation and high usage customers to determine most strategic outreach plan.
  • Attend events or conduct small trainings on SBEA.
  • Support the strategic planning of lead generation as communicated by team members.
  • Train/educate customers on energy efficiency opportunities.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Interest in the energy efficiency industry.
  • Confidence in outreach and communication.
  • Flexibility with hours.
  • Use of databases for reports and accurate data-entry.
  • Previous experience working in a virtual environment is helpful but not required.

Physical Efforts:
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods at a computer; data entry, and proficient typing.
  • Speak/hear; provide clear, accurate communication and hear a telephone.
  • Driving up to one hour.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50.
