Position Summary

We are seeking highly trained and experienced Research Scientist - Clinical & Translational Research (CTR) to drive research projects by leveraging the world’s largest cancer database of molecular and clinical data to advance precision medicine in oncology. Research results will be presented at major conferences and published in top clinical oncology journals, and will inform biomarker strategies, cohort development, treatment pattern assessments, and ultimately acceleate the future of oncology drug development. Qualified individuals will combine scientific and analytical expertise with strong communication skills to effectively engage KOL’s in scientific discussions, shape high-impact research, and contribute to the advancement of precision oncology through publications in leading journals and presentations at major conferences. The ideal candidate will also support cross-functional communication across internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of scientific goals with business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

The main job function of CTR scientist is to collaborate with academic and biopharma collaborators to deliver high quality research publications using Caris Multiomic database. Work under the CTR leadership and collaborate closely with the KOL and their research team to design and refine translational research ideas to ensure robust methodology and optimal use of Caris’ multiomic database for high level publications. Lead assigned research projects from conception to publication/presentation, initiated either internally or externally as collaborative efforts; apply knowledge of cancer biology, molecular genetics, data science, computational biology, and clinical oncology to ensure the quality and novelty of the projects. Collaborate under the guidance of CTR leadership and in close partnership with POA strategy team, MSL, bioinformaticians, data scientists, molecular scientists, geneticists and pathologist teams to deliver innovative and clinically relevant findings. Effectively communicate research results to collaborators, biopharma partners, and company leadership via virtual or in person presentations. Draft manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations; collaborate with external and internal authors through the full publication process. Stay current with the fast emerging scientific and clinical literature in the field of clinical oncology, share with the CTR team and medical affairs team knowledge and progress in the space.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in computational biology, statistics, bioinformatics, cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology or biostatistics or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Proficient with statistics and familiarity with statistical software (Python and R pr eferred)
  • Two to five years’ experience in clinical and translational research using NextGen sequencing and clinical data.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge in cancer, deep understanding of molecular genetics and familiarity with targeted and immune therapies in cancer treatment.
  • Strong record of translational or clinical oncology research, publications in reputable journals.
  • Previous research experience in the molecular diagnostic field of oncology.
  • Strong background in biostatistics or data science is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, well-organized; proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with scientists, clinicians, and external collaborators.
  • Skilled at facilitating scientific discussions and aligning stakeholders around shared objectives.
  • Proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
