Job description

Job Summary:
Holland & Knight LLP is a firm that values high standards of performance and success. They are seeking an IT Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to support the firm's endpoint and virtual desktop platforms, focusing on cloud-hosted VDI, ensuring reliable service delivery in a regulated legal services environment.
Responsibilities:
• Support day‑to‑day engineering and operational activities across endpoint and virtual desktop platforms, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle updates.
• Execute and validate standardized virtual desktop images and configurations for cloud‑hosted VDI environments, ensuring alignment with performance, security, and usability standards.
• Assist with application packaging, testing, and deployment for endpoint and virtual desktop use cases using automated delivery methods.
• Participate in patch and update cycles for operating systems, productivity tools, and third‑party applications across both physical and virtual environments.
• Support policy‑based endpoint and VDI configuration controls to maintain compliance and reduce configuration drift.
• Perform quality assurance validation for endpoint and VDI changes, including testing, pilot validation, and post‑deployment checks.
• Assist in troubleshooting endpoint and virtual desktop issues, performing structured triage and escalating to engineering teams as needed.
• Generate and maintain reports on deployment status, compliance, and virtual desktop health and availability.
• Support incident and problem response activities through the Firm’s IT service management (ITSM) platform.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures related to endpoint and VDI services.
• Collaborate with Endpoint Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Service Delivery teams to ensure cohesive service outcomes.
• Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
• Special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience supporting enterprise endpoint environments across Windows and macOS platforms.
• Hands‑on experience supporting or operating Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• Working knowledge of endpoint and virtual desktop concepts including image management, application delivery, patching, and compliance monitoring.
• Experience with automated application packaging and deployment methods.
• Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell or equivalent).
• Understanding of endpoint and VDI security best practices and configuration baselines.
• Ability to follow structured change, testing, and release management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint or virtual desktop environments.
• 4+ years of overall experience supporting desktop or end‑user computing platforms.
Preferred:
• Strong experience supporting virtual desktop environments in a cloud‑hosted or enterprise setting, preferably with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Preferrable experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Familiarity with Nerdio Manager for Enterprise.
• Experience supporting macOS devices in a managed enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with professional services or regulated industries.
• Exposure to ITIL concepts including incident, problems, and change management.
