Job Description
Founded in 1963, Jupiter Christian School is committed to excellence in teaching the mind, reaching the heart, and inspiring servant leaders to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Jupiter Christian School distinctively educates students in a Nurturing Community to Excel in life and Engage the world.
Under general supervision, develops curricula and creates, implements, and delivers educational programs for student to achieve School goals. Advises, tests, and teaches students in a variety of subjects. Plans, develops and oversees community outreach programs. Promotes programs through community networking and recruiting efforts; recruits and trains tutors and teachers. May coordinate and implement recruitment and retention programs, special events, and support services. May provide financial aid/scholarship advisement for targeted student populations.
A successful Jupiter Christian Teacher will:
Prioritize the student as the focal point of the classroom.
Commit to being both a learner and leader by identifying, exploring, evaluating, and adopting new digital resources and hands-on tools for learning.
Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical thinking and fosters digital literacy and media fluency.
Dedicate time to collaborate with colleagues and co-learn with students to create authentic learning experiences that leverage a number of resources including technology.
Design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.
Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in digital platforms virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
May require valid Florida State teaching license in secondary education in a specific area of expertise as appropriate.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to plan and implement promotional programs.
Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
