Certificate and License: State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License Residency Requirement: Prefer Ohio residents. Will consider applicants from a surrounding state to Ohio within one hundred miles from the Ohio border. Border states include Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state's content standards to meet the unique needs of each student Writes and maintains compliant IEPs for students identified with special needs Collaborates with general education teachers to meet the goals of the student Educate parents on various instructional strategies Prepare appropriate documentation Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings Proctor achievement and other required testing to students including alternative assessments if required Collaborates with related services team to ensure IEP goals are developed and monitored Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong presentation skills Organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities Ability to work without direct supervision Flexible schedule Ability to travel as needed, up to 20% of the time Ability to pass required background check MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License Bachelor's degree AND Equivalent combination of education and experience Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 1 year classroom experience Master's Degree with an emphasis in Special Education 3 or more years of classroom experience in Special Education WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the home office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic, household appliances, and household distractions).
