Job description

Job Summary:

At Rady Children’s Health – San Diego outpatient Speech-Language Pathology Department, the primary focus of our Speech-Language Pathologists is medically complex children of all ages and early intervention for children zero to three, often with autism. Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate children with speech, language, cognitive, feeding/swallowing, and auditory impairments and provide specialized therapy to develop functional skills.

Speech-Language Pathologists craft family-centered, innovative treatment plans through onsite and virtual visits to improve the patient’s functional potential. In fact, innovation is such a meaningful part of who we are that our team regularly presents outcomes studies at national conferences.

We provide multiple opportunities for growth and advancement, including in-house continuing education (up to 10 CEUs per year!), and opportunities to train in different specialties. To support professional growth and recognize contributions beyond direct patient care, Rady Children’s Health – San Diego offers a Clinical Ladder program with Speech-Language Pathologist levels II and III. These roles maintain patient care as the primary responsibility while providing opportunities for additional involvement in areas such as education, research, and advocacy. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for advanced roles will have the opportunity to discuss eligibility with department leadership during the interview process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree

• 1 Year of Experience

• ASHA – Speech Lang Path

• BLS for Health Providers (American Heart Association)

• Speech Lang Pathologist Lic

• Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Specialty certifications in Speech Pathology advanced practice

• Pediatric experience

Speech-Language Pathologist I – The current salary range for this position is $45.75 to $62.09

Speech-Language Pathologist II – The current salary range for this position is $48.03 to $66.06
