Visual Manager Retail Merchandising

Overview

The Visual Manager is responsible for working cross-functionally to ensure retail business initiatives and strategies are supported and maintained in all retail location sets through visual merchandising, creative installations and in-store marketing. Simultaneously, the Visual Manager must contribute to a guest-centric, performance driven retail culture by clearly articulating topside and location specific objectives and expectations and coaching all to create win-win/mutually beneficial scenarios for all internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads operational team on the execution of the overall visual merchandising strategy by partnering with product development and planning teams to address business needs.
  • Attends line review meetings to learn the assortments and important buys at the start of the buy/product development process and
  • Owns SKU-to-Fixture and the Plan-O-Gram process, creation and implementation.
  • Owns signage needed for each visual set to drive sales in key categories
  • Works with creative and concept partners on uppers, displays and window marketing to assure it sits back to the product
  • Partners with planning, product development and operations teams on key priorities to assure weโ€™re moving the brand forward and driving positive results
  • Works with New Openings and Project teamโ€™s calendar to coordinate key dates for walk throughs, set meetings and approvals for all location sets
  • Assists with creative and other installation pieces in business reviews and location sets.
  • Will attend new store openings, special events and large installs when needed as visual merchandising lead and/or for creative installations
  • Will attend store walk-throughs and in-store meetings as the visual merchandising lead
  • Organizes workshops and in person/virtual training sessions to teach visual merchandising and creative techniques (โ€œtrain the trainerโ€).
  • Assists with workshops and in person / virtual training sessions to develop the field team and teach visual merchandising techniques
  • Contributes to and approves all visual merchandising updates
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience as Visual Merchandiser or related experience
  • Demonstrated visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio
  • Solid experience in field visual merchandising, including window displays, signs, interior displays and space utilization
  • Ability to install creative (patch & paint, hanging, displays, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Other visual design tools are a plus.
  • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results
  • Strong listening, written and oral communication skills required
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to innovate and challenge current norms to drive positive change and efficiency
  • Experience in customer and trend direction to inform both assortment strategy, and decision making
  • Team-oriented mentality with the ability to interact with partners across the organization at all levels
