Position Description:
Provides technical expertise in the architecture, design, and implementation of server infrastructure and applications for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and reliability of computer systems and servers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of server infrastructure, including consulting with end users.
  • Responsible for ensuring software is optimally licensed and within contracted guidelines.
  • Ensures system compliance with availability and performance standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper server design, installation, troubleshooting and hardware testing, ongoing maintenance of production and staging/QA environments and continuous monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Handles escalated and complex system issues, possessing expert knowledge of subject matter.
  • Represents the organization at meetings and presents information to Business partners.
  • Responsible for the design and technical implementation and support of internal server and application products.
  • Performs or delegates regular backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Installs and upgrades servers and software, manages virtual servers, and integrates automation processes.
  • Performs day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, configuration, reliability, and installation of server, workstations, and virtualization.
  • Develops system benchmarking, monitoring plans, and procedures related to servers, applications, and various operating systems.
  • Develops and maintains detailed maintenance and contingency plans and documentation for server infrastructure.
  • Provides detailed project status reporting as directed by leadership.
  • Mentor and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Follows NIST security protocols for implementing solutions.
  • Follows the ITIL framework in day-to-day work.
  • This position is based out of the Phoenix office and works onsite.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
  • Degree in Computer/Information Science, technical college or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 5 years of systems administration experience required; 7-10+ years preferred
  • Current MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) Certification or VMWare Certified Professional preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows Server 2019+, Windows 11, as well as Ubuntu Linux.
  • Extensive Microsoft O365 experience and Knowledge required
  • Design level knowledge of Citrix, VMWare, Cohesity, VDI and AppV preferred
  • Technical expertise in implementing and supporting highly complex Okta configurations
  • Advanced SCCM (MECM) experience including operating system deployment (imaging), application deployment, software updates, scripting, cloud management gateway, queries, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of virtual machine management in AWS and Azure
  • Working knowledge of HPE Nimble SAN solution
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
  • Experience with Group Policy and PowerShell required
  • Experience creating scripts and implementing automated solutions
  • Knowledge of Mac Server desirable
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of implementing best practices for IT operations, including expert knowledge of storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in partnership with others
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment
