PACU Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery - Travel Assignment

Profession: Registered Nurse

Assignment Details
  • Shift: Day Shift - 5x8 Hours
  • Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Location: Fullerton, California
  • Call Requirement: Yes - post-shift call coverage required
Position Overview

This opportunity is based in an outpatient surgery center adjacent to a main acute care facility. The department is seeking a highly experienced PACU RN with a strong ophthalmology background and proven Phase I and Phase II recovery experience.

RequirementsExperience
  • Minimum 3 years of PACU RN experience required
  • Phase I and Phase II PACU experience required
  • Ophthalmology experience required
  • Epic experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 5 years PACU experience
  • Local candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius
Required Certifications
  • ACLS
  • BCLS
  • PALS
Patient Care Details
  • Outpatient surgical setting
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
  • Strong focus on ophthalmology recovery patients
Responsibilities
  • Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery care
  • Monitor and assess post-operative patients
  • Administer medications and treatments per protocol
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams
  • Ensure accurate documentation and patient education prior to discharge
