American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER nursing experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Job Details
• 21-bed Emergency Department with 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms,
• Treats all ages with common diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke,
• Patient ratio of 1:5,
• Uses Cerner EHR,
• Shift schedule is 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM,
• Every other weekend required along with some holidays,
• No call requirements,
• Floating required as needed,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license (NC or Compact),
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB),
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required,
• ADN required,
• Emergency nursing skills required including trauma care, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG interpretation,
• Psych ER experience is a plus,
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration,

• Work in a 137-bed acute care hospital that is a Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center,
• Facility offers services including cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, OBGYN, ED, gastroenterology, hospitalist services, nephrology, hematology, urology, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, and wound care,
• Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring strong multi-tasking skills and teamwork,
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays,
• Scrubs of any color permitted; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts are not allowed,
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel position,
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months,
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
