Sales Representative – Theming & Architectural Coatings

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join their growing sales team. This individual contributor role focuses on driving revenue growth through the sale of specialized theming and architectural coating solutions used in fabrication, entertainment, and creative industries.

The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach, strong relationship-building skills, and experience with coatings or materials used on foam, wood, metal, and other surfaces. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on engagement, including product demonstrations, customer training, and industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of company products and effectively communicate their features, benefits, and applications.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective customers through research and outreach.
  • Establish and grow relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, including onsite meetings and jobsite support.
  • Perform product demonstrations and deliver training sessions (in-person and virtual).
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer engagements.
  • Achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Sales activity levels
    • New customer acquisition
    • Revenue growth targets
  • Utilize CRM systems to track leads, opportunities, and project progress.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in theming, entertainment, fabrication, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong consultative (solution-based) sales skills versus transactional selling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, jobsite support, and periodic HQ meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical distribution or sales of:
    • Urethane
    • Polyurea
    • Hybrid coatings
    • Hard coatings and protective materials
  • Knowledge of coatings used on foam, wood, metal, and fabricated surfaces.
  • Existing network within theming, scenic fabrication, or entertainment industries.
  • Experience managing both direct and distribution sales channels.
